Socail Networking
I have now decided against doing my production piece on the London riots, the main reason for this is because, I was finding it ver tricky to gathher lots of primary research, and video footage, of what was going on. The other reason why i changed my mind, was because of several programs that are coming to our Television screens in the up and coming weeks, for example:
Inside Facebook
Social Network (Film)- link below to watch clips of the film. I am also going to do another blog on the film.

Production planning
Social effect of Facebook
Have 3 actors
Open sequence, will be one of the actors walking home from school, and going straight up in to their room and sitting on their computer, all evening, then sleeping, then getting up for school again, and carrying out the same routine. This represents modern day.
The second sequence will be an actor that comes home from school, chucks his bag in, and within minutes he is going out to meet his friends at a local park, this is to represent what things used to be like, before people relied on social networking to chat to friends.
The final actor will basically just be an interviewee, where I will ask several questions to try and prove a point about how much of an effect social networking has had on people life’s, the interview process will look like this…
Main part, interviewing people:
• Asking people:
• How many friends on facebook?
• How often they use it?
• Whats the main thing you use on the site?
• Is it your main use of communication
Then turn it on its head, and say:
• Where do you live?
• How many people do you know down your road?
• How often do you talk to these people?
Then to close my documentary I will list lots of facts and statistics to back up my research.

The Social Network story
We first started seeing social networking sites come to the internet in 1997, this was the start of the revolution. I have found a video on YouTube that represents when social netowrk sites started, and the impact they are having.

Uni Fees
I have been looking through articles that were printed before the rise in uni fees, here is one that I found, this was on the BBC website in 2009: 'In England and Northern Ireland, and for non-Welsh students in Wales, full-time undergraduates are liable to pay tuition fees of up to £3,225 a year (2009-10 rates).
The poorest students are eligible for non-repayable support at up to the same amount.
It works like this:
Annual tuition fees - which were a flat rate of £1,175 - have, since September 2006, been varied from nothing up to a maximum of £3,000 (index linked)
Families earning less than £25,000 are eligible for a grant of £2,906 a year, which tapers away to nought on family incomes of £50,020
Universities charging maximum fees have to fund bursaries of at least £310 for the poorest students
Unlike previous tuition fees, students no longer have to pay "up front" - while at university - unless they want to
Instead fees are covered by a loan, repayable by graduates once their annual income passes £15,000
Repayments are a minimum of 9% of all earnings over that figure per year.
In getting the tuition fees legislation through Parliament in 2004 ministers accepted two amendments.

Uni Tuition Fees
A huge topic that has been in the news throughout the last year has been the huge debate on Tuition Fees. This has caused several massive demonstrations up and dwon the country. In early November 2010, there were people up and down the coutnry waking up to headlines of, 'Students face tuition fees rising to £9,000', this not only effects me, but a huge number of people my age across the country. It is thougght that Students will face a bill of £90,000 to study in London under plans to dramatically increase tuition fees, anywherer else in the UK will not be as much as this, however it will not be far from it. This link below goes to the list of University fees across the UK:
