History Of the Internet

Recently in our Media lessons we have been doing some research on the: History of the Internet. We watched a film by Melih Bilgil. Here are some of the Key factors we learned from this video. October the 4th 1957 during the cold war was when we first had access to the internet, this was mainly used for military reasons. These are all the reason what the internet is being used for: Military network Commercial Scientific To reduce congestion of Internet file transferring, they break down the files in to smaller files and then when they are at the other end they are put back together again. Atomic – Radio waves, Direct waves, Network – long distance. During the end of the lesson, we were all asked a question, and we found that most peoples answer's to this question was the same. 1. What form of technology reminds you most of growing up and why? I remember when I was younger the first mobile phone, where it would have to be on charge for most of the day, and then when you went out it would only last for around 1 hour, it then developed from phones that were really cool about 10 years ago, to if you had one of them now, it would be embarrassing.
